Only Two Shows Remain For Maxinkuckee Singers Christmas Concert

 
 
The Maxinkuckee Singers are already nearly finished with their performances of this year’s Christmas concert, but there are still two shows available. Greg Underwood and Brian Lichte with the Singers visited WKVI’s Tom Berg and gave him some insight into just what the show is all about.

Underwood has been a Maxinkuckee Singer for 10 seasons, and Lichte said he’s been around for a few years longer than that. The group itself was established 32 years ago.

The Maxinkuckee Singers are preparing for their annual Christmas concert, directed by Kathy Overmyer. The group has extended an invitation to all members of the public to enjoy their seven performances this holiday season, and with no admission charge, the shows promise comedy routines, featured soloists, sacred numbers, and contemporary and standard pieces as well.

Maxinkuckee Singers to Present Christmas Spectacular Tonight

The Maxinkuckee Singers will present their Christmas Spectacular tonight at the Bremen United Methodist Church.

The Maxinkuckee Singers will share standard Christmas songs in their production along with contemporary numbers, sacred songs, comedy routines and featured soloists. This year, there will be a five minute intermission prior to the show’s surprise conclusion!

The Maxinkuckee Singers performed last night at the Knox United Methodist Church. It was the next to last performance of the season for the Singers whom have entertained audiences for over two decades with their Christmas show.

The compact one hour show is filled with the traditional, sacred, and humorous songs of the season.

Maxinkuckee Singers to Hold Christmas Spectacular

On Sunday, Dec. 18, the Maxinkuckee Singers are holding their annual Christmas Spectacular and Silent Auction. Gregg Underwood of the Singers told WKVI that the auction has received a lot of support from local businesses and they will be auctioning off about 20 items this year before the concert.

The fundraiser is for the North Judson High School Music and Drama Department, and will start at 3 p.m. with a silent auction in the atrium along with the Madrigals and some of the band members, who will be performing select songs.

At 3:45 p.m., the doors to the main auditorium will open, where a concert will take place at 4 p.m. MC’d by Tom Berg and featuring the Maxinkuckee Singers, the concert is sure to please all in attendance. The Singers will be performing everything from sacred numbers to holiday favorites, and is expected to last about an hour.

Underwood says that the Singers have been together for a very long time, and perform a spring show and a holiday show each year.

Maxinkuckee Singers Wow Crowd in Starke County

Joy Ritenour, Becky Liechty, Laura Snipes and Sharon Coffey

Approximately 250 people braved the cold Monday night to attend the only Starke County appearance by the Maxinkuckee Singers.

The 1 1/2 hour musical presentation incorporated traditional music with comical songs like Rusty Chevrolet, and others.
