Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center HVAC Upgrades Complete, Training to Take Place Soon

At the Knox City Council meeting on Tuesday night, Clerk-Treasurer Jeff Houston alerted members that upgrades to the HVAC system at the Community Center are complete.

Houston said, “They’re going to do a little bit of training with people in the city to make sure that we’re aware of how to control the heating and air condition but I’m pretty happy with the way it’s working over there now.”

Houston added that the final invoice for that project has been submitted. Back in July, the Knox Board of Public Works awarded the bid for the project to McGrath Refrigeration. In the past, Mayor Estok stated that this new system will be far more efficient than the old one. Continue reading

Knox Board of Works Selects Community Center HVAC Contractor

Updates to the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center’s heating and cooling system will be installed, fixed and fine-tuned out by air duct cleaning austin tx. The company was chosen by the Knox Board of Works Monday, after it submitted the lowest of three quotes, at $120,000. Also, the board was glad to have had gotten one of the best electricity contractors for the lowest price.

Pulaski County Commissioners Approve Equipment Purchase for Justice Center

Pulaski County Maintenance Director Jeff Johnston told the commissioners last week that the opened sealed bids for the HVAC systems for the justice center were investigated to determine the reason for a large gap in pricing. Benchmark in Kokomo and McGrath Refrigeration in Knox both submitted sealed bids.

“I looked at this pretty in-depth and I can’t find a reason for it,” said Johnston. “It seems to me that McGrath’s is the way to go. Their units are comparable. It’s also practically half the cost. It would be my recommendation to go with $74,467 for the HVAC units as opposed to $135,000.”

Pulaski County Justice Center, Courthouse Damage Repaired

Repairs to the Pulaski County Justice Center, to the Pulaski County Courthouse and to the county home barn have been completed.

Maintenance Director Jeff Johnston told the commissioners last night that just minor items need to be finished to complete the damage sustained in a hail storm over a year ago.

“They’ve got metal coping to do on the justice center but the courthouse roof has been repaired and the justice center roof has been replaced and sealed. The barn at the county home has been repainted. The damaged section in the back and the roof have been repainted and sealed. The damaged screens were also repaired,” explained Johnson.
