Empty Bowls Project Raises More Than $2000 for Food Bank of Northern Indiana

  
 

The inaugural Empty Bowls project at the Center at Donaldson was a resounding success, filled to the brim with eager participants. The project began in early February at MoonTree Studios, when the public was invited in on a Saturday to make clay bowls with their own hands. Participants then returned two weeks later to glaze their bisque-fired bowls with combinations of blue, beige, green, and reddish-brown glazes. These unique bowls numbered over 300 for the Empty Bowls soup supper on Saturday, March 15.

MoonTree Studios Preparing for Second Annual Catapult Experience.odt

  
 
MoonTree Studios is teaming up with the Veteran’s Therapeutic Art Center in Plymouth as they announce the return of a popular event at the MoonTree Wood Shop this spring that gives participants the opportunity to design and build a wooden catapult. Teams are invited to conceive, plan and build a working wooden machine that can hurl golf balls, seed balls and other objects for distance and accuracy.

Evelyn Schwenk, co-director of MoonTree Studios, told WKVI that these are true catapults, just a little bit smaller.

MoonTree Studios Announces Callouts for MoonTree Players Productions

 
 

A new performing arts group based in Donaldson is looking for people interested in all aspects of theater to take part in an upcoming project. MoonTree Studios and the inaugural group of MoonTree Players is updating Anton Chekov’s prophetic play, The Cherry Orchard. Auditions are scheduled Thursday, Feb. 27 from 3 until 9 p.m. EST at MoonTree Studios.
