Two Sentenced in Starke Circuit Court

 Two defendants were sentenced in Starke Circuit Court on Thursday.

Nathan Vermilyer pleaded guilty in a plea agreement with the State to a charge of Dealing in Methamphetamine as a Class B felony. Judge Kim Hall accepted the plea agreement and sentenced Vermilyer to the terms of that agreement to six years in the Indiana Department of Corrections with three years suspended to be served on home detention through the Starke County Community Corrections program. The other three years will be served on probation.

Three Arrested after Police Execute Search Warrant

Three people were arrested late Tuesday night after a search warrant was conducted at a home in Knox.

Officers from the Knox City Police Department, Hamlet Police Department and the Starke County Sheriff’s Department conducted a search warrant at 403 S. Shield Street in Knox where an active methamphetamine lab was found. Two children were in the home at the time of the incident and Indiana Department of Child Services was called to the scene to get them into a safer environment.

Four Arrested on Meth Related Charges in Knox

Four people were arrested Saturday after officers from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department served an arrest warrant on a Knox man.

Officers arrived at 0655 S. State Road 23 in Knox to serve an arrest warrant on Gabriel French. Officers found an active methamphetamine lab at the residence. While officers were waiting for the search warrant, several other subjects arrived at the residence and were detained. While executing the search warrant, officers found several methamphetamine labs, precursors, drug paraphernalia and several hand written notes on how to manufacture methamphetamine.
