Several people were arrested Friday afternoon when Plymouth police officers were called to an apartment complex in response to a man who had allegedly violated a no-trespass order for the property. Tyler Byers was reportedly seen going into apartment number 24 at Country Place Apartments, and officers traveled to the apartment and stumbled upon an unexpected scene.
Charges filed against Karma robbery suspect
The 17-year-old Grovertown man police say robbed a Plymouth store at knifepoint will be charged as an adult. Corey Michael Sobieck is charged with armed robbery and intimidation. Both are class B felonies, and each carries a maximum of 20 years in prison. Police say Sobieck walked into the Karma Records store about 5:20 Monday evening, brandished a knife at the clerk, threatened to murder her and grabbed cash from the register. Plymouth Police apprehended him a short time later and recovered the knife in some nearby weeds. Sobieck is also on juvenile probation in Starke Circuit Court for conversion.
Grovertown Man Arrested in Armed Robbery Incident in Plymouth
The suspect in an alleged armed robbery incident at Karma Records in Plymouth has been identified.
Cory Michael Sobieck, 17, was arrested on a preliminary charge of Armed Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, a Class B Felony after he allegedly brandished a knife and demanded money and threatened an employee at the business. He did get away with an undisclosed amount of cash and was taken into custody about 15 minutes later. Plymouth police did find a knife in his possession that was reportedly used in the armed robbery.
Plymouth Police nab armed robbery suspect
A juvenile Plymouth Police believe robbed a local store at knifepoint before fleeing on foot is jailed in Marshall County. An employee at Karma Records in the Pine Creek Plaza at U.S. 30 called 911 at 5:23 a.m. to report a knife-wielding male entered the store, demanded money and fled on foot toward Beef O’Bradys. Officers fanned out over the area and arrested the suspect about 15 minutes later. They reportedly found the note believed to have been used in the robbery in his pocket. The weapon officers say was used in the robbery was located a short time later. The subject’s name and additional details will be released later this morning.
Argos Woman Arrested on Allegations of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor
Police have announced the arrest of a 29-year-old Argos woman on Tuesday for alleged sexual acts with a 15-year-old boy.
The Plymouth Police Department released a statement Thursday explaining that the department received information concerning the crime on Jan. 29, and after locating the male juvenile victim, he told police the details of the reported sexual activity with 29-year-old Lisa Tincher, who has since been arrested.
Tincher was placed under arrest on Feb. 5, and she reportedly admitted to committing sexual acts with the 15-year-old in October 2012. Tincher is also on probation for burglary and theft in LaPorte County, and now faces charges of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor as a Class B felony. Her bond has been set at $20,000 and she is currently booked into the Marshall County Jail.
Plymouth Man Arrested on Battery Charges after Alleged Stabbing
A Plymouth man was arrested Friday after an alleged stabbing incident.
Officers from the Plymouth Police Department were called to a residence in the 700 block of Broadway Street in Plymouth after receiving a call of a possible stabbing incident. Officers arrived at the scene and found the victim, Crystal Mata, who had stab wounds to her hand and back. She was taken to the hospital where she was treated and released.
Police continued to investigate the case and later arrested Crystal’s husband, 47-year-old Maximino Mata, on preliminary charges of Aggravated Battery as a Class B Felony and Battery with a Deadly Weapon as a Class C Felony. He is currently in the Marshall County Jail on a $20,000 cash bond.
Plymouth PD is Narrowing Down School Bomb Threat Suspects
A week since the bomb threat was originally discovered, Plymouth Police Department officers have announced that they have “narrowed down” the suspect pool after reviewing surveillance footage near the boy’s restroom where a bomb threat was penciled on the wall at the Plymouth High School.
The threat claimed that a bomb would go off in the high school library on Jan. 24 at 12:30 p.m., prompting the school to undergo a two-hour delay that morning to allow more than a dozen state troopers, two bomb dogs, and local police to search the school for an explosive. Fortunately, the threat turned out to be a hoax; no bomb was found.
Plymouth Schools Now in Session
Plymouth Schools are now in session after being placed on a two-hour delay for an alleged bomb threat that was reported at Plymouth High School.
The alleged threat was found on the wall of the boy’s bathroom yesterday afternoon stating that a bomb would go off in the high school library today at 12:30.
The Superintendent’s office has confirmed that the Plymouth Police Department did not find any evidence of a bomb and a thorough search conducted by the Indiana State Police and their bomb sniffing dogs this morning found nothing.
Additional police officers are present to provide extra security at the school corporation.
Plymouth Woman Arrested on Drug Charges Following Investigation
The Plymouth Police Department arrested a Plymouth woman after police executed a search warrant at 822 W. Monroe St.
On Sunday morning, officers from the Plymouth Police Department, Indiana State Police and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department went to the residence after complaints were received over the Drug Task Force tip line along with another investigation.
Plymouth Police Department Arrests Two on Drug Charges
The Plymouth Police Department made two drug arrests Tuesday afternoon.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Nigel Rowe of Plymouth at the intersection of 5th and Adam streets. Police found that he was driving on a suspended license with a prior conviction. He was arrested on preliminary charges of Driving While Suspended-Prior and Possession of Synthetic Marijuana.
Police then conducted an investigation at 810 N. 5th St. and found the homeowner, 36-year-old Cheryl R. Knapp, to be in possession of drugs. Knapp was taken to the Marshall County Jail and booked on a preliminary charge of Possession of Marijuana. She was jailed on a $1,500 bond.
Plymouth Police Arrest Two For Illegal Drug Lab
Plymouth police arrested a Plymouth woman and a North Judson man on several drug charges on Wednesday.
Police received a tip that a man and woman were purchasing precursors for the manufacture of methamphetamines at Martins Supermarket in Plymouth. The suspects, 47-year-old Earlana Jones and 28-year-old Henry M. Ruiz of North Judson were located in the parking lot and were found to be in possession of an illegal drug lab.
The pair was arrested on a preliminary charge of Illegal Drug Lab. Ruiz was also booked on two active warrants out of Marshall County.
They are being held in the Marshall County Jail on $1,500 bond.
Plymouth Woman Strikes McDonald’s Building, Leaves Scene, Hits Tree
A Plymouth woman started the new year off on a bad note, as a drunken trip to McDonald’s ended in her arrest after she not only struck the building, but left the scene and hit a tree as well.
Plymouth police received a call on Jan. 1 around 8:31 a.m. reporting a red Dodge Neon that had struck the McDonald’s building at 2010 N. Michigan St. The driver, according to the caller, appeared to be intoxicated, and left southbound on Michigan Street.

A Plymouth man was arrested Monday on suspicion of domestic battery.
Officers from the Plymouth Police Department were called to a residence on North Michigan Street on a report of domestic battery.
Plymouth Man Arrested Following Domestic Dispute
The Plymouth Police Department arrested a man after a domestic dispute.
Officers responded to a residence on Dora Lane on Sunday after Stella Hinman called in to report a physical altercation. Police responded to the scene and after an investigation, Mark A. Weaver of Plymouth was arrested on a preliminary charge of Battery Causing Bodily Injury. The case will be forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office for further review.
Plymouth officers also investigated two theft incidents on Sunday and Monday. Amanda Bowen was arrested after she was caught shoplifting in Walmart. Brock Biddle was arrested in a separate incident of shoplifting at Walmart. They were both taken to the Marshall County Jail. Bowen was given a $3,000 bond.
LaPorte Man Arrested For Using Counterfeit Currency
A LaPorte man was arrested Tuesday after an investigation into counterfeit currency used at the Plymouth Walmart.
The Plymouth Police Department received a call about counterfeit twenty dollar bills used to make a purchase at the establishment. Eleven $20 bills were retrieved and all of the bills reportedly had the same serial number on them.

A Plymouth man was arrested Friday after Plymouth police officers arrested him on a valid arrest warrant.
Officers arrested Danny L. Steinke on an arrest warrant for Burglary and Theft as he was a suspect from an incident at the Stone Creek homes in Plymouth in September.
Plymouth Man Caught Manufacturing Meth, Arrested
A Plymouth man was arrested after police walked in on him allegedly manufacturing methamphetamine. On Dec. 6, Plymouth police officers and Marshall County Sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant at a residence in the 7000 block of Rose Road as part of an investigation into a burglary and vehicle theft that had occurred at Stone Creek Homes on Markley Drive in Plymouth in September.
Plymouth Police Make Three Arrests For Theft
Three Plymouth residents were arrested this week on charges of Theft after they allegedly shoplifted from Walmart.
The first arrest took place on Sunday, when Charles Salach, 39 of Plymouth, was spotted stealing lithium batteries – a key ingredient in manufacturing methamphetamine – from the business. He was forcefully detained after attempting to flee Walmart Loss Prevention officials. Police quickly arrived on the scene and transported him to Marshall County Jail, where he was booked on charges of Theft as a Class D felony. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 18, and is currently held on a $3000 bond.
Police made two more arrests the next day, when the Plymouth Police Department received a call around 4:10 p.m. from Walmart Loss Prevention officials who advised they had two female shoplifters in custody. Kasie Miller and Kristina Shelby of Plymouth were detained after allegedly stealing baby items from the store. The women were taken to Marshall County Jail on charges of Theft as a Class D felony.
Plymouth Man Arrested After Dumping Meth Lab in Dumpster
A Plymouth man was arrested on charges of Manufacturing Methamphetamine as a Class B felony after he allegedly dumped a smoking box in a dumpster.
The Plymouth Police Department received a call from a man who told police that he had witnessed a man drop a box that was expelling smoke into a dumpster near 314 Kingston Ave. Officers quickly arrived at the location and found the discarded items, which were identified as a methamphetamine lab.
Plymouth Woman Arrested For Criminal Trespass
Plymouth police arrested a 42-year-old woman after she refused to leave a Plymouth residence on Friday.
Police were called to 619 W. Garro St. in Plymouth in response to a report of domestic situation. When police arrived, they learned that a verbal argument had taken place between Jennifer Miller and her mother, who wanted Miller out of the home immediately. Officers helped to remove Miller from the residence, but it wasn’t long before things escalated.
