Medaryville Residents Make Case for Library
Supporters of the Medaryville branch of the Pulaski County Public Library are lobbying the library board in hopes of keeping the branch open. It’s currently slated to close at the end of the year due to declining use and escalating costs. Several residents attended last Wednesday’s library board meeting. They say the library is not open at times that are conducive to use by families, and programs for youngsters are scheduled at times that conflict with church and school activities. Continue reading
Pulaski Memorial Hospital CEO to Retire
After a 40-plus year career in health care administration work, Rick Mynark, the CEO of Pulaski Memorial Hospital, is planning to retire in 2013.
“Rick has been a pillar of the Pulaski County community for so many years it will be unusual to not see him behind his desk at the hospital,” said WKVI’s Ted Hayes. “The hospital board has begun a search for his replacement through a firm that includes Ken Stella who is the former President of the Indiana Hospital Association. This will be a nationwide search and the board hopes to have someone selected when Rick leaves his post.”
Pulaski Memorial to Sign Agreement with Private Ambulance Firm
For the Pulaski Memorial Hospital, some decisions could mean the difference between life and death. When CEO Rick Mynark approached the commissioners this week, he knew that his proposal could mean the very same for patients at the hospital. Mynark informed the commissioners that PMH would be signing an agreement with Keeney Ambulance and Transport Service (KATS), a private ambulance firm, to provide patient transfer service, cutting down drastically on the time required for patient transfers.
