Ed Hasnerl was recognized for serving 14 years on the IU Health Starke Hospital’s Community Board during a special meeting Monday night. At the same time Hasnerl was receiving his award, the board was welcoming his replacement, Martin Bedrock.
In board business, Ben Bennett was reelected the Board President, Sandy Hansen remains as Vice President, and Dr. Walter Fritz was selected to be the new Secretary taking the place of newly retired member, Ed Hasnerl. Continue reading
Starke County officials are discussing selling IU Health Starke Hospital to IU Health LaPorte Hospital. A committee made up of county officials has been named and now members from the IU Health Starke Hospital Board have been named to be on the committee that will bring a sale recommendation to the county.
Sandy Hansen of Knox is missing her purse…and her car.
According to police documents, on Tuesday, March 1st, Sandy left her purse under the front desk in the Starke County Abstract office in downtown Knox and she went on break between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. When she returned, her purse was gone. She searched the office and could not find her purse. She called police to report the theft.
