Knox Community School Board Spotlights Students Involved in Community Projects

Libby Flora, Erica Pick, Taylor Kemble, Logan Short, Grant Warren, Hayley Windbigler and Keisten Childers talk to the Board about community projects

At their recent meeting, the Knox Community School Board members commended the students who took part in the Kiwanis Food Basket project and distribution during the Christmas holiday. The students helped 130 families. Food donations were taken from the public and from the students in the corporation.

The students also raised $572 for Riley Children’s Hospital last year and they are hoping to raise more money this year to continue as a Riley School.

“They were considered a Riley School last year and how that works is if you raise at least $1.00 per student in the building and you donate that to Riley, you become a Riley School in support of the Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis,” said Superintendent A.J. Gappa. “They Riley Hospital has patients from all 92 counties in Indiana and we’ve had students from Knox Community Schools go to Riley before and it’s an ongoing process.”

If you would like to donate money to Riley Children’s Hospital, you may call Knox High School at 772-1624 or 772-1677.
