Knox-Center Township Fire Department Uses New Rescue Boat in Drowning Incident

The Knox-Center Township Fire Department recently purchased a boat for river rescues and Fire Chief, Kenny Pfost, said it was used during the rescue attempt Sunday morning.

“It worked well,” said Pfost. “There were three of us in the boat searching for the individual.”

The Department also received other equipment for water rescues.

“Besides the boat, we did receive money for life jackets and dry suits, ropes and different things for water rescue. We’ve been training with it already.”

Members of the fire department participated in additional training Monday:

“We’ve trained with it some. In fact, last night we had a training with it and we’ll be doing ongoing training with it.”
