The Indiana State Police will be out in full force beginning Friday, May 9 for the Click it or Ticket seat belt enforcement campaign. The enforcement will continue until June 1.
More than 250 law enforcement agencies in Indiana will conduct special controls to identify and ticket unrestrained drivers and passengers. The focus will be on the Memorial Day weekend.
Statistics show wearing your seat belt increases your chances of surviving a crash by more than 50 percent.
Be prepared to see more law enforcement on the roads during this special enforcement. Special patrols will occur around the clock. If you are pulled over and unrestrained, you will be ticketed.
Officers are able to participate in this Click or Ticket campaign by the support by federal highway safety funding awarded to more than 250 state and local law enforcement agencies from Indiana Criminal Justice Institute’s Traffic Safety Division.
