Fire Crews Battle Early Morning Blaze

Firefighters from three fire departments battled a fire this morning at a building on the northeast corner of Plymouth and Starke Streets in Hamlet.

Hamlet Fire Chief Bob Goetz told WKVI News that they arrived on scene at 3 a.m. CT at the commercial site and fought the blaze for three hours. The cause of the fire is undetermined. A representative from the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate the cause when he arrives today.

The building contained pool insulation supplies.

The Hamlet-Davis Township Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Koontz Lake and Knox-Center Township Fire Departments.
