A sure sign of summer vacation in the Kankakee Valley is the switch from weekend-only to seven-day-a-week movies at the Melody Drive-In at Bass Lake. Owner Fred Heise says the new schedule goes into effect tonight.
“The box office is going to open up on Friday and Saturday at 7 o’clock and on Sunday through Thursday it will be 7:30. Our movies, obviously we’re on God’s time, whenever the sun goes down. That’s usually about 8:15, 8:20 this time of year,” Heise said.
New movies will typically start on Friday and run through the following Thursday. This weekend’s features are “Spy” and “Poltergeist” on screen one and “Mad Max” and “San Andreas” on the back screen.
