Date Confirmed for Knox Fireworks Display

The City of Knox Fireworks will take place Saturday, July 2nd in Wythogan Park. Mayor Dennis Estok told the city council last night the display will cap off a day’s worth of activities that will get under way with a 1 p.m. parade through the downtown area. It will be followed by activities in the park. Estok adds the splash pad should be operational by then.

City officials have scheduled three fundraisers to offset the cost of the fireworks display. The first is an April 17th paddle party at the Knox VFW. It will start at 1 p.m. Next up is a port-a-pit chicken fundraiser on Saturday, May 7th at the south side fire station on Heaton Street. The final fundraiser is a fish fry at the Knox Moose Lodge on Sunday, May 22nd. Estok says presale tickets for the port-a-pit and fish fry should be available next month.
