Culver School Board Begins Interviewing Superintendent Applicants

The Culver Community Schools Corporation’s superintendent search moves into the next phase tonight. For the past couple weeks, the school board has been reviewing applications. Tonight, members will meet in executive session for the first round of interviews.

Interim Superintendent Chuck Kitchell reminded them during their regular meeting Monday that they’ll be interviewing three applicants tonight, with more scheduled in the coming days. “You also have a copy of the first round of questions and the rubrics,” he said. “So each night we will have three sets of questions for you and three rubrics so that you can keep track of each of the individuals as you interview them.”

A total of seven executive sessions are scheduled over the next three weeks, as the search process continues. “And then as we move forward, there will be some more executive sessions that we haven’t scheduled yet,” Kitchell added, “because you’ll have to come back together and start making some pretty important decisions as you get down to the final group of applicants.”

The school corporation plans to have a new superintendent in place by July 1. Kitchell will retire at the end of June.
