Hamlet Fire Department to Sell Unneeded Fire Engine

The Hamlet Fire Department has gotten approval to sell one of the town’s fire trucks.

Fire Chief Bob Goetz told the town council Wednesday the town-owned fire engine has recently been replaced with a newer truck. To dispose of the old engine, Goetz asked permission to put it up for sale.

Council member Brian Earnest noted the town doesn’t have any need for the old truck. “I think selling it’s going to be the best route, and then maybe use that for equipment and stuff,” he said.

The town council approved the request unanimously.
