Knox Set to Stockpile Salt

In spite of the mild winter, the City of Knox needs to purchase more salt. Street Superintendent Jeff Borg told the board of works Wednesday he needs to order 75 more tons to fulfill the city’s contract.

Borg adds the sides of the salt shed will need to be raised six feet in order to store it. He estimates doing so will cost $1,600. The board of works unanimously approved the expenditure.
