A flood watch is in effect for the Kankakee River at U.S. 30 from late tonight until Sunday evening. The river is holding steady at 7 feet, but the National Weather Service advises it could exceed the 10 foot flood stage by tomorrow afternoon if current precipitation forecasts hold.
