Starke County EMS is now able to electronically submit claims to one of their major insurance carriers.
Business manager MaryLynn Richie says e-filing claims with Blue Cross Blue Shield allows for the immediate correction of data entry errors, as the claim will be kicked out if there is a mistake.
She told the county commissioners Monday she plans to track how much quicker the county gets paid by electronically billing to make sure it is worth the cost.
Starke County EMS is already submitting Medicare claims electronically.
