Knox Council to Consider Budget Cuts, Paving Projects

The Knox City Council will consider a budget reduction resolution during tonight’s meeting. The resolution calls for cuts to five of the city’s funds, including a reduction of nearly $200,000 from the General Fund, to compensate for the circuit breaker credit.

Also during tonight’s meeting, a representative from accounting firm Umbaugh and Associates is scheduled to discuss financing options for upgrades to the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center. The project would replace the roof, air conditioning, and carpeting at the nearly-20-year-old building.

A list of this year’s street paving projects will also be considered during tonight’s Knox City Council meeting. It begins at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
