The City of Knox will be picking up leaves this week. Residents should place leaves in a long row in front of their residence. Do not put them in the alley, and do not bag them. Also be sure to keep trash out of leaf piles so they can be vacuumed up.
The Knox Street Department will pick up branches and limbs each Thursday. However the city will not take material left over from professional tree contractors. They are responsible for removing trees and branches.
Grass, garden material and brush can be dropped off at the city compost pile at the intersection of Shield and Mound Streets behind city hall and the Knox Police Department. Please remove items from bags before placing them in the appropriate piles.
The second City of Knox spring leaf pickup will take place the week of May 1 through 5.
