Oregon-Davis Elementary Students Wish Luck to the Seniors

Oregon-Davis elementary students got to participate in a unique activity on Monday afternoon. It was an activity that Elementary School Principal Bill Bennett said was a first-time event at the school.

“It’s our first annual senior walk here at Oregon-Davis Elementary School,” said Bennett. “One of the things that we’re trying to do with the students is to get them excited about school and looking at the end in sight. By our seniors walking the hallway, they’ll kind of get a glimpse of the future and something to look forward to.”

Led by a few members of the band, the Oregon-Davis senior class wore their cap and gowns and strolled down their old elementary school hallways as the small students lined up against the walls and watched them pass by. Most of the youngsters had congratulatory signs and held their hands out for a high-five.

Superintendent Don Harman said the students were excited for the senior walk.

“We certainly hope it’s a positive, motivational setting so that they look forward to do that when they’re seniors to do the same thing.”
