Several Ash Trees Still Need to Be Removed from Winamac Town Park

The Town of Winamac continues to try to keep up with dying ash trees in the Town Park. Several have been cut down in the past year or so, but Park Manager Dave DeLorenzo estimates that about 75 remain.

He told the Winamac Park Board last week there are at least 10 more ash trees that are still healthy for now, but will likely start showing symptoms of the emerald ash borer soon. Meanwhile, there are a few non-ash trees that need to be removed, as well.

The park board is trying to figure out how much money to budget for tree removal in 2018.
