Knox Schools to Implement eLearning Days

The Knox Community School Corporation will implement the use of eLearning Days during the 2017-2018 school year.

According to Director of Curriculum and Instruction Peggy Shidaker, when inclement weather creates a school cancellation all students K-12 will log into the district Learning Management System, Canvas, to access learning targets and assignments for the day.

The Canvas system can be accessed by computer, tablet or smart phone. Assignments will be posted by 9 a.m. on that cancelled school day. Teachers and tech help will be available to answer questions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Students will prepare for the eLearning implementation by participating in an eLearning day on Friday, Sept. 1. Students and teachers will not attend school that day. Instead, learning will continue through Canvas. This will give students the opportunity to log in to Canvas the day before the eLearning Day to ensure connectivity success.

Parents can receive Canvas training to assist their children with this process. A training session is set during the Back-to-School Night on Wednesday, Aug. 2.
