Hamlet Yellowstone Trail Fest Begins Today!

The Yellowstone Trail Fest begins today at the Starke County Fairgrounds in Hamlet. The first event of the day is Dr. Leinbach’s Zucchini contest from 8 until 9:45 a.m. All day events include the annual Rendezvous, a History on Wheels display, bounce houses and a water slide.

A flag raising ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. At that time, automobile aficionados who wish to have their vehicles in the car show can start registering. The car show judging will commence at noon. Live music will be on the stage from 7 until 9 p.m Saturday.

The fun continues Sunday with a 5K Rainbow Splash Race. Runners can register for that starting at 7:30 until the race begins at 8 a.m. Sunday is also the Repurposed Metal Sculpture contest. Registration for the contest is from 10 a.m. until 11, sculpture display begins at 11 and runs until 3 p.m. followed immediately by a sculpture auction.

If you’re an eligible blood donor, the Blood Mobile will be on site taking donations from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m on both days. The festivities end Sunday at 4 p.m. with an ice cream social at the Lions Pad. More information about what the Yellowstone Trail Fest has to offer can be found here.
