Oregon-Davis school administrators reviewed the corporation’s revamped summer school program with the school board Monday. “This was the first year that we had Jump Start that started a few weeks before school started. Typically, we’ve had a summer school that began right when school ended,” explains says Superintendent Dr. Don Harman. “And we just reported that we saw a lot of positive things. We saw some things that we need to adjust. We obviously want to start looking at some data.”
Harman says about 30 students attended the first year of Jump Start, “We had a situation where we had about 30 students who received a free breakfast, a free lunch, free transportation to and from Jump Start.” He says school officials hope to increase those numbers next year.
