Knox, N.J.-S.P. High Schools See Improvement in School Accountability Grades

Three local elementary schools saw their letter grades decline in the latest round of School Accountability Grades. Oregon-Davis, Eastern Pulaski, and West Central elementary schools all got a C for the 2016-2017 school year, down from a B the year before. Culver Community Middle/High School also went from a B to a C.

Meanwhile, the biggest increase in the local area was at North Judson-San Pierre Junior-Senior High School, which jumped from a D up to a B. Knox Community Schools also saw some improvement. The high school’s letter grade moved from a B to an A, while the middle school went from a D to a C. West Central Middle School also improved from a D to a C.

The 2016-2017 School Accountability Grades were released this week by the Indiana Department of Education. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Jennifer McCormick said in a statement that she’s encouraged by the results, but added that her department’s work is not finished.
