Oregon-Davis Extends Agreement with Starke County Youth Club

The Oregon-Davis School Corporation plans to continue its partnership with the Starke County Youth Club over the coming years. m says the two groups recently signed a memorandum of understanding, allowing them to keep working together through May of 2022. “The Youth Club has a few classrooms in our elementary school,” he explains. “They utilize the classrooms, some of our facilities. And then our students stay after school until about 4:45, and then we transport all of our Youth Club students home via bus.”

Harman explains that the MOU formally outlines the responsibilities of the school corporation, as well as the Youth Club. “It’s an MOU that we’ve had here in the past,” he says. “And [Executive Director] Irene [Szakonyi] does an outstanding job, and we couldn’t be happier to have a partnership with the Youth Club for all the things that it benefits our children.”

Harman also says the Oregon-Davis School Board approved a pair of resolutions Monday, authorizing school employees to transfer funds to finish out the year. He says it’s a normal yearly procedure.
