Eastern Pulaski School Board Reorganizes for 2018, Reappoints Attorney, Treasurer

The Eastern Pulaski School Board has a new president. Terri Johnston was elected president for the year during Monday’s school board meeting. She replaces Joe Cunningham. Deke DeMarco was reelected vice-president, with Cunningham opposing. Beth Ruff will take over as board secretary.

Board members also voted to reappoint Tim Murray as the school board’s attorney, at the recommendation of Superintendent Dan Foster. “He realizes this last year was a little bit of a challenge for all of us, unfortunately, new territory,” Foster said. “He’s actually taken it upon himself, he went to a school board law conference, a one-day session back in December hosted by the school board association. So he’s looking into school law aspect, a little bit more.”

The school board also reappointed Corporation Treasurer Angie Anspach and Deputy Treasurer Diana Hanselman. The Eastern Pulaski School Board will continue to hold regular meetings the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m., with special meetings to be added as necessary.
