Reducing school violence and bullying is the goal of a program coming to Eastern Pulaski Schools next month.
The Rachel’s Challenge program will be held on Tuesday, March 13. “They’ll be here. They’ll do a presentation for the middle school/high school, a presentation at the elementary. They have some training with some students and staff, and then they do a community event that night at 6:00,” explains Superintendent Dan Foster. “So we are very excited to be able to bring that program to Winamac this year.”
Rachel’s Challenge was created in memory of Rachel Scott, one of the first students killed in the Columbine school shooting in 1999. Foster told the school board last month that other schools have found the program to be very beneficial, but its high cost has prevented it from coming to Eastern Pulaski until now.
