Poll Workers Sought by Pulaski County Election Board

The Pulaski County Election Board is looking for poll workers for the May primary. Board Chair Jon Frain says many of the county’s regular poll workers will be ineligible because they’re either on the ballot or related to someone who is.

He adds that poll workers are paid, and they’re also fed on Election Day. Poll workers may live anywhere in the county and work at any one of the county’s five vote centers. They must be registered voters, age 18 or older. Frain says anyone interested in working the polls should contact the party chair or the County Clerk’s Office.

Similarly, because Clerk Christi Hoffa is on this year’s ballot, Frain says she won’t be allowed to handle election materials directly. She’s still expected to be present during Election Day activities, though.

Frain adds the election board anticipates another smooth-running election. He notes that the vote center model has been working out well, since it was implemented in 2016.
