A Westville, Indiana man was arrested late Sunday night after leading Pulaski County sheriff’s deputies on a pursuit that ended in Fulton County.
Pulaski County Sheriff Jeff Richwine told WKVI News that 32-year-old Johnny Mullens was on a resident’s property when shots were heard. As Pulaski County officers responded, they found Mullens driving in the vehicle that was described as the one being at the residence on 400 East in Winamac.
Police say a traffic stop was initiated just before 10 p.m. ET after Mullens did not use his turn signal and he refused to stop. He reportedly continued to lead police through resident’s front yards, back yards and through fields. Richwine said Mullens eventually ended up on State Road 14 headed east and had to pull over near State Road 17 in Fulton County because he damaged his truck during the pursuit and it wasn’t running properly.
In a search of the vehicle, police reportedly found methamphetamine inside the cab of the pickup in addition to syringes that were thrown from the vehicle.
Mullens was arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe, driving while suspended, and possession of marijuana. He has since bonded out of the Pulaski County Jail.
