Knox Mayor Alerts Council Members and Residents of Ongoing Work Downtown

Knox residents are being asked to remain patient as Reith Riley crews conduct sidewalk reconstruction as well as roadwork in the downtown area.

During Tuesday night’s city council meeting, Mayor Dennis Estok informed members and meeting attendees that ‘no parking signs’ have been placed in various spots around town and they will be moved to other areas as work continues.

“Everywhere you see the signs, those streets are going to be repaved. They’re not going to be shut down all day.” Estok explained, “As soon as they go through and mill, which doesn’t take them long, then people can go back and park but they do have to have their cars out of there when they come through with the machine and all that.”

He said, for the time being, individuals whose vehicles are displaced by the work can utilize the community center parking lot for free. If you have any questions, contact the Mayor’s Office at 574-772-4553.
