The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying an armed robbery suspect who allegedly attempted to rob a Next Door Foods Saturday night.
Police are investigating an armed robbery that reportedly occurred shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday, April 28th. According to a press release issued by La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 11:11 p.m., one male subject entered Next Door 
Foods located at 10201 North US Hwy 12.
The subject approached the counter and then moments later, he allegedly walked behind it and produced a handgun. Apparently, the subject then proceeded to demand cigarettes and US currency from the clerk before leaving the business on foot a short time later, according to the report.
Police are asking for the public to assist them with locating the suspect who is described as an African American male, approximately 25-years-of-age, approximately 6’0’’ to 6’4’’, with a medium build.
