Public Assistance Sought as La Porte County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Armed Robbery

The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying an armed robbery suspect who allegedly attempted to rob a Next Door Foods Saturday night.

Police are investigating an armed robbery that reportedly occurred shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday, April 28th. According to a press release issued by La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 11:11 p.m., one male subject entered Next Door Foods located at 10201 North US Hwy 12.

The subject approached the counter and then moments later, he allegedly walked behind it and produced a handgun. Apparently, the subject then proceeded to demand cigarettes and US currency from the clerk before leaving the business on foot a short time later, according to the report.

Police are asking for the public to assist them with locating the suspect who is described as an African American male, approximately 25-years-of-age, approximately 6’0’’ to 6’4’’, with a medium build.
