Winamac Park Board to Continue Discussing Restroom Project, Toddler Playground

Entrance to the Winamac Town Park

Upgrades to the Winamac Town Park’s restrooms and toddler playground will be discussed during tonight’s park board meeting. Winamac officials have been working to replace the park’s main restrooms with larger facilities with more room for wheelchairs.

At this point, the architect is finalizing the design. Park board members hope to be able to choose a construction contractor soon. Plans call for the new men’s and women’s restrooms to have four toilets each.

The Winamac Park Board has also begun a project to replace the equipment in the park’s toddler playground. The town’s Kiwanis and Eagles clubs, as well as the American Legion post, have offered to contribute several thousand dollars to the effort. The park board set a goal of raising a minimum of $10,000 through donations.

Updates on both projects are expected when the Winamac Park Board meets tonight at 6:00 EDT at the Winamac Municipal Utilities Complex.
