Campaign Signs, Asset Management Plan to be Discussed during Pulaski Commissioners Meeting

Pulaski County Commissioners: Mike McClure, Jerry Locke, Kenny Becker

A proposal to repeal Pulaski County’s regulations on campaign signs will be brought to the county commissioners tonight. The Pulaski County Election Board has been leading efforts to remove the section of the county’s Unified Development Ordinance dealing with “special signs.” Election board members feel there are already enough rules at the state and federal levels to regulate campaign signs, without additional zoning restrictions.

The advisory plan commission is expected to include the proposal in a round of updates to the county’s Unified Development Ordinance, to take place in the coming months. The county commissioners will then have the final say.

In other business tonight, the commissioners will get an update from Pulaski Superior Court Judge Crystal Brucker Kocher on an application for grant funds from the Indiana Department of Correction. Highway Superintendent Terry Ruff is scheduled to discuss the details of the county’s asset management plan. It analyzes the condition of the county’s roads and sets priorities for repairs and upgrades.

Tonight’s Pulaski County Commissioners meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. EDT at the Pulaski County Highway Garage.
