Jordan Sentenced in Starke Circuit Court

A Winamac man was sentenced to probation in a plea and sentencing hearing Tuesday morning in Starke Circuit Court.

In a plea agreement with the state, 25-year-old Adair Jordan pleaded guilty to a charge of battery resulting in moderate bodily injury as a Level 6 Felony. Jordan admitted to punching a man in the face which dislodged a tooth in an incident at a Grovertown home on Dec. 11, 2017. The victim was reportedly belittling Jordan’s mother and Jordan admitted to kicking down a bedroom door and punching him in the face.

Starke Circuit Court Judge Kim Hall accepted the plea agreement between the state and Jordan. Jordan was sentenced to 15 months in the Starke County Justice Center with all of that sentence suspended to be served on probation. He will also need to attend any programs as recommended by the Starke Count Probation Department. He is ordered to not have any contact with the victim during the execution of his sentence.

A charge of strangulation was dropped per the terms of the plea agreement.
