Knox Community Crossings Projects Complete, Sewer Extension Project Nears Completion

The four projects for this year’s Community Crossings projects in Knox are complete.

Mill and fill work was done on Pearl, Main, Shield, Washington, Lake and Bender Streets. Road reconstruction on Water and Main Streets from U.S. 35 to Mound Street included new asphalt, curbs and sidewalks. Several other roads got a new asphalt overlay.

The City of Knox was awarded $455,000 for INDOT-approved Community Crossings projects with Reith Riley completing most of the work.

In other street department news, Superintendent Jeff Borg told the Knox Board of Works last week that water main extension project on Main Street between Delaware and John Street is being done by Mark Milo. Custom Concrete did the curb work on Wednesday last week and then Town and Country will pave that road cut once the stone sub-grade is installed.

Borg said there was a drainage issue there for years and now it should be alleviated. A more extensive paving project is planned for that area yet this year.
