Hominger Sentenced on Drug Dealing Charges

Shelby Hominger

A plea agreement accepted by Starke Circuit Court Judge Kim Hall will send a drug dealer to prison.

Shelby Hominger pleaded guilty in a plea agreement between her defense attorney and the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office to two counts of dealing in a narcotic drug as a Level 5 felony. She admitted in open court on Wednesday morning that she sold baggies of heroin to a confidential informant and a Starke County law enforcement officer in an operation on March 9 and April 13 in 2017. The deals were conducted on State Road 10 east of Bass Lake.

Hominger was sentenced to four years in the Indiana Department of Corrections on each count to be served consecutively. No part of the sentences was suspended. She will also need to pay $160 to the Tactical Narcotic Team fund in addition to court costs and a drug interdiction fee.

She also faces several other charges in other counties. This sentence will be served consecutively to any jail time given in the other cases.
