The Knox Community School Corporation has finalized its list of administrators for the upcoming school year. Cory Masson was hired as the new elementary school assistant principal during Tuesday’s school board meeting. He officially starts July 1, pending the completion of the required criminal history check.
Meanwhile, Knox High School still has three teaching positions to fill before school starts in August. “We have Choir that’s still open,” Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart told board members. “We have Advanced Math, which is going to be extremely hard to fill. And we’re going to have to fill Special Ed at the high school, as well.”
As part of Tuesday’s personnel report, board members also accepted the retirement of two longtime elementary school teachers. “Cheryl Davis started in 1985 as an elementary teacher and taught fourth grade,” Reichhart said. “And Ruth Benson started in 1977 . . . so she’s been with us for quite a long time. And we certainly want to thank both of those teachers for their time and service.”
Reichhart noted that Benson and Davis often went above and beyond their regular teaching duties.
