Police Catch Burglary Suspects in Knox Middle School

One adult and two juveniles were taken into custody early Monday morning after they reportedly broke into the Knox Middle School.

According to Knox City Police Chief Harold Smith, Knox City Police Department Officer Seth Johnson was notified of an alarm around 2:17 a.m. CT at the middle school. He responded to the scene along with deputies from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department. Police say the assistant principal informed them that three people were inside the school as witnessed on security footage. A perimeter was established while K9 Officer Chad Dulin and K9 O’Neill were called to the school to aid in the search of the suspects. With the use of the K9, the three individuals were located inside the school.

Two male juveniles were detained in the incident and released to their parents. Zachary L. Wilson, 20, of Knox, was arrested and booked into the Starke County Justice Center on preliminary felony charges of criminal trespass on school property, criminal mischief and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
