Dollahan Sentenced in Starke Circuit Court

Jan Dollahan Jr. was sentenced Thursday in Starke Circuit Court. Back in April, a jury found him guilty of criminal recklessness and invasion of privacy, after neighbors said he shot multiple rounds at their property, in an incident in May of 2016. Judge Kim Hall accepted those verdicts Thursday, according to court officials.

Dollahan was sentenced to 18 months in the Starke County Justice Center for criminal recklessness and six months for invasion of privacy, with the sentences to run concurrently. However, that time is suspended and will be served on probation. Dollahan will have to complete Decision Points classes through Starke County Court Services and perform 10 hours of community service a month.

The sentencing was delayed multiple times, since the jury’s guilty verdict. In May, Judge Hall had some concerns with Prosecutor Nick Bourff’s closing argument and asked for more information. Then in July, Hall said he was ready to make a decision, but Dollahan asked for permission to switch attorneys, delaying the process again.
