Eastern Pulaski School Board Approves Generator Purchase

Eastern Pulaski School Board members approved a generator purchase when they met on Monday.

Superintendent Dan Foster said that initially, school officials planned to purchase a backup battery system but a lack of anticipated e-rate funding caused the school board members to explore other options.

At their meeting Monday night, they considered a few generators from different companies but ultimately decided to go with one from H&G. The total cost for the generator and installation costs total $45,811.

Foster said that while the initial cost was a little pricier than other options when officials considered a number of other factors, it made the most sense.

Foster explained, “The generator is more expensive to put out up front but the long-term use and cost actually appeared to be about a wash and so the generator was thought to be a better product with better reliability.”

Foster noted that the 50-kilowatt generator will be used in the schools’ computer server room.
