Inaugural MAC Grant to be Awarded at Re-Opening Celebration for the Knox McDonald’s

Following some internal renovations and the addition of new technology, the McDonald’s in Knox is holding a grand re-opening celebration at 11 a.m. tomorrow.

In addition to unveiling a more modernized look featuring self-service kiosks, the restaurant will be launching the MAC Grants program. Local franchise owner and operator Bill Boldt said that the organization is excited and honored to mark this celebration by partnering with KHS to launch MAC Grants.

The inaugural award totaling $1,500 will be presented to Culinary Arts Teacher Jyll McNeil. High School Principal Dr. Elizabeth Ratliff will also be on site to participate in the ribbon cutting and check presentation.

Restaurant officials report that MAC Grants will be an on-going program that offers financial support to help teachers ‘Make Activities Count’ for their students. Since lessons often become more meaningful when demonstrated with hands-on experiences, the McDonald’s of Knox wants to help support activities that supplement regular classroom curriculum.
