When Knox City Council members met this week, Mayor Dennis Estok informed them about a proclamation he signed on Tuesday.
He told members, “I signed a proclamation proclaiming the week of September 29th as the Society of Saint Vincent DePaul Week.”
He said the week-long recognition will be held in conjunction with the “National Friends of the Poor” Walk and Run taking place on Saturday, September 29th.
Registration will be held at 9 a.m. and the event will kick-off at 10 a.m. According to the event description, participants will leave from Sandy Acres Park and head west on Veterans Parkway to Main Street and then they’ll take Culver Road to Heaton Street and head back to the park.
