West Central School Board Updated on County-Wide Truancy Program

Work continues to crack down on truancy in Pulaski County’s schools. The West Central School Board got an update on the effort last week, according to Superintendent Don Street.

“[Middle/High School Principal] Mr. [Pat] Culp and the administration have been working closely with county officials in developing a county-wide truancy program and guidelines,” Street explains. “Not that truancy is a rampant issue at West Central, but they’re taking the proactive steps in not allowing it to become a problem.”

In addition to administrators at both of the county’s school corporations, the effort also involves Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative Coordinator Natalie Federer, Prosecutor Dan Murphy, and the Probation Department, among others.
