Citations Issued to Knox Residents in Order to Clean up Properties

Several property owners in the City of Knox have been issued citations for having tall grass and excessive garbage on their properties.

Knox Building Administrator Kenny Pfost told the Knox Board of Works members last week that the citations allow 20 days for the issues to be remedied before the city takes action and the property owner has to pay for the clean up. Pfost said he’s noticed that tires have piled up at a couple of homes and citations have been issues for that as well.

Pfost also noted that Melvin Zeiters has registered all of his rental properties with the City of Knox and is working to clean up 310 Ostrander Court. He said he can’t remove the “junk” off the property until the tenant has been evicted from the property. A hearing is set for this week in the matter.
