Culver Town Council Updated on Unsafe Structures

The Culver Town Council members were updated on the status of unsafe structures in town.

Town Manager Jonathan Leist explained that Jackson Services started the demolition process at 808 Obipso Street on Oct. 15. On Oct. 11, the Culver Unsafe Building Committee voted to demolish 709 Obipso Street. Town Attorney Jim Clevenger is expected to receive that decision by official letter a a court hearing will follow.

Another blighted structure that the town is focused on is at 415 Lake Shore Drive. At last report, legal papers were served on an owner of the 27 Group, the company listed as the legal owner of the property. The building known as the former City Tavern restaurant has several structural, health and environmental issues. A court hearing in the matter is set for Dec. 18.
