Eastern Pulaski School Board Adopts 2019 Budget

The Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation’s 2019 budget was officially adopted by the school board Monday. It adds up to just over $15.8 million.

A major change from previous budgets is the consolidation of four of the school corporation’s funds into two, as part of Indiana’s overhaul of the school funding structure. Even with the change, Superintendent Dan Foster says there were no major surprises. “Spread out over the two funds, with the Education and Operations, the totals still are about the same as what they have been with the General Fund and Bus Replacement and Transportation and Capital Projects,” he explains. “So there wasn’t really a big shift in any of that, so that was good. There was not a big shock to anybody there.”

Eastern Pulaski’s 2019 budget calls for an Education Fund of almost $7.9 million and an Operations Fund of just over $6 million. Foster says updated capital projects and bus replacement plans were also approved Monday, along with some other supporting documents for the budget.
