Eastern Pulaski School Board to Consider Strategic Plan Proposal

The Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation could have a strategic plan in place within the next couple months. Superintendent Dan Foster says the strategic planning committee has been making progress.

“There’s about 25 on the committee and we’ve had 18 to 20-ish maybe that have been at the meetings each time and we’ve had three meetings at about three hours each,” he says. “So we’ve had a lot of time put into the meetings, and our goal is one more big meeting and then present some information in November to the board.”

Foster says the school board could approve the plan then, but will probably hold off until its December meeting. “Most likely, they would just kind of table that and sit on it for a month and take additional comments and questions and see where they go from there,” he explains. “And then if any changes need to be made, we can make those, and then come back in December and perhaps the board can approve our strategic plan for the next three-to-five years.”

The strategic planning process stems from a climate audit conducted last spring, which found some perceived issues with shared decision-making, communication, and trust.
