Oregon-Davis Students Help Raise $600 for Tippecanoe Valley Bus Stop Accident Victims

Oregon-Davis students recently helped collect funds for the families affected by last month’s bus stop accident in Fulton County. “We had a fundraiser, a hat day, November 9,” Superintendent Dr. Don Harman told the school board last week. “Really neat that our students participated, and we raised $600.”

Harman explained that money was donated to the Mentone Fire Department, at the recommendation of Tippecanoe Valley Superintendent Blaine Conley. “We wrote a check to the Mentone Fire Department. I sent a letter to them this week,” Harman said. “I just think that’s really neat that our students and staff gathered $600 for those families in that tragedy.” The fundraiser was retroactively approved by the O-D school board last week, one of several fundraiser requests the board approved.

Board members also accepted a $200 donation to the high school boys basketball team from the Koontz Lake Association and a $100 donation to the National Honor Society from the First Presbyterian Church of Walkerton Fellowship Club.
